Regional Page Tutorial

The regional page is a map-based view of a particular agricultural region. The aim is to provide access to a spatial database of regional farmers markets, farms and food/farming groups and organizations. Users can query and locate farms on the map based on product type, farmers markets attending, marketing type, CSA delivery sub-regions, and certification status. Organizations can be queried and located on the map based on their type of work and specialization. And farmers markets can be queried based on the days of the week in operation. Relation between a farmers market and its related farms (and vice versa) can be visualized with connecting lines on the map.

Every farm and organization with a completed profile is included in the regional page. Whenever a profile is updated, the new inforamation and relations are accessible automatically from the regional page.

Country, province/state as well as the region (based on the location of a farm or organization) are chosen at the time of registration. Such information can not be edited during profile completion or subsequent profile updates. If you make a mistake in choosing the right country, province or region during registration, you will need to delete your account and create a new one. You can update your address and change your location on the map (by dragging the marker to the new location) within your particular region. However, if you relocate to a new region, you will need to create a new account.
